Account Executive

Drive enterprise sales of Scala’s next-generation protein design platform.

About the Role


Scala Biodesign is developing ScalaOS, a next-generation protein design software platform that is transforming how scientists develop therapeutics, diagnostics, materials, food and chemicals.


ScalaOS enables R&D teams to push the boundaries of protein activity, selectivity, stability and safety. By making computational design accessible to any scientist, it accelerates innovation in drug discovery, enzyme development and biomanufacturing. Originating from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Scala works with multinational pharmaceutical and biotech leaders to advance protein design worldwide.


We are looking for a top-tier Account Executive, reporting directly to the Head of Commercials. This is a rare opportunity to join an early but scaling software company and play a foundational role in building our enterprise sales motion. In this role, you will help shape our go-to-market strategy, influence how the product evolves based on customer needs, and sell a highly technical platform to top-tier enterprises across the US and Europe. You’ll be operating in ambiguity, navigating long and complex sales cycles, and working closely with scientific and technical stakeholders. We are looking for a hands-on closer who can translate deep technical value into clear business outcomes, and who thrives in building trusted, long-term customer relationships. This is a quota-carrying role.

Responsibilities


  • Own the full sales cycle end-to-end: from prospecting and discovery through negotiation, procurement, and close.

  • Build and manage a high-quality pipeline within defined target markets and territories.

  • Close new enterprise customers and expand existing accounts through upsell and cross-sell.

  • Develop account plans, map stakeholders, and drive renewals and long-term growth.

  • Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and conferences.

  • Work cross-functionally with Scientific, Product, and Leadership teams to align customer needs with ScalaOS capabilities.

Requirements


  • 4+ years of experience in B2B software sales.

  • Proven track record of closing high-value deals and consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.

  • Experience selling multiple products or solutions in complex sales environments.

  • Strong understanding of deep technologies and enterprise R&D cycles, with the ability to quickly learn and communicate technical concepts.

  • Excellent discovery, negotiation, and deal-execution skills.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.

  • Fluent English (written and verbal).

  • Experience selling software/SaaS platforms or scientific tools used by R&D teams.

  • Background selling into pharma, biotech, medtech, industrial biology, enzymes, materials, or chemistry organizations.

  • An existing, relevant network you can actively leverage.
