About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Marketing Lead to build Scala’s marketing function from the ground up.
This is a builder role for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will help turn complex science and technology into clear market-facing assets, increase awareness of Scala among relevant biotech, pharma, and industrial audiences, and create the marketing infrastructure needed to support lead generation, sales, partnerships and events.
You will be the primary owner of marketing execution, working closely with leadership, sales, business development, R&D, and operations. This role is a strong fit for someone who has owned marketing in an early-stage or lean environment and is excited to create, test, improve, and get things done.

Key Responsibilities
Own, refine and execute Scala’s annual core marketing plan across content, digital channels, events, webinars, and conferences.
Work with technical and scientific stakeholders to turn complex ideas into clear, accurate, compelling content for biotech, pharma, and deep-tech audiences.
Embed AI into how marketing work gets done, from messaging and content development to workflow design, and campaign generation.
Manage and expand Scala’s digital footprint, including website content, SEO/AIO, social media, and ongoing content distribution.
Build lightweight workflows, timelines, and processes that create structure, reduce noise, and keep marketing projects moving.
Develop and execute marketing campaigns that support Sales and Business Development initiatives, helping generate better-targeted outreach, stronger engagement, and more qualified commercial conversations.
Use data and analytics to understand what is working, identify opportunities for improvement, and support better marketing and commercial decisions.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in B2B or B2C marketing, ideally within biotech, life sciences, deep tech, software, or other technology-driven industries.
Strong experience creating marketing content and messaging for technical or complex products.
Experience managing ABM channels, campaigns, events, webinars, and cross-functional marketing projects.
Highly proficient in leveraging AI tools with a strong understanding of how AI is reshaping marketing and the ability to apply it thoughtfully across strategy, content, and execution.
Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable building structure in a fast-moving startup environment.
Exceptional English writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling stories
